A woman who was shoved to the ground moments after the brazen daylight robbery of a $500,000 watch in Beverly Hills says she has broken bones and is also “broken emotionally,” according to a new report.
The woman, who did not want to be identified for her safety, said she was waiting outside Il Pastaio Thursday afternoon when the chaotic scene unfolded, KCAL-TV reported.
A trio of suspects came up behind the watch-wearer, jewelry dealer Shay Belhassen, and made their move to swipe his $500,000 Richard Mille timepiece.
Another bystander sitting nearby was shot in her leg.
As the thieves took off with the watch, they slammed the woman to the pavement, surveillance video obtained by the outlet shows.
“He came up behind me and he smashed me to the ground,” the woman told the station. “I thought I was shot. The pain and the way I was slammed to the ground, I thought that one of the bullets went in me.”
She said her shoulder and humerus bone were broken as a result.
“I have no arm for about a month and a half and my chin was torn with a laceration,” she added.
On top of that, she has to deal with the emotional scars from the ordeal, she said.
“I’m still very shaken up and I’m broken emotionally,” the woman added.
Since the incident, the city has added a dozen armed guards on foot, plus six additional security patrol cars, according to the report.
